Novice programming use cases

A woman owns a Bakery. She feeds a computer her sales data for the previous month, and without knowing anything about arrays or compilers or curly braces, she gives the computer the information it needs to optimize her daily sales projections.

A 10 year old boy and his father sit down at their computer and--with no knowledge of computer aided drafting or physics equations--design a tree house and test it for structural weaknesses in various load and weather conditions.

The security director for a subway station gives a computer an hour's worth of clips from security cameras above his turnstiles. As the computer plays back the tapes, the director points out instances of people jumping over the turnstiles. Without knowing what a neural network is or having any programming skills, the director instructs the computer to call the security office whenever it "sees" anything similar on those cameras.
