The trouble with imagination is, if you allow it to leak into a conversation between humans and computers, it opens up the computer to the expectation of understanding the full breadth of the person's experience. If conversation can be held to the concrete elements within the computer's purview, the computer has a fighting chance at participating in a meaningful transfer of ideas.
